The Yoga of the Celestial Song

The teachings given at Mahalaxmi Yoga Centre are founded upon the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita. The verses of the  'Celestial Song' were composed by the great sage Vyasa Veda more than two thousand years ago. The poem brings together the essence of India's diverse spiritual heritage into a single book of eighteen chapters. The Gita has become one of the world's most universally treasured spiritual texts and has been relied upon for inner guidance by countless millions of Indians over the millennia.

One of the Gita's many outstanding virtues is its spiritual pragmatism. Vyasa teaches how virtually anyone may successfully practise Yoga in their daily life and progress towards Divine Realisation by following a progression of natural stages.

The Bhagavad Gita of Vyasa Veda skilfully combines, emotive poetry, the very highest philosophy and astonishing imagery with the simplest of practical instructions.
